The Story Behind 002 & Founder/Designer!

Pickleball—and its famous first serve: 002 (pronounce "double O two" or "zero zero two"). When I heard the sound of the ball hitting the paddle, I knew there is more to come. This sport was nowhere near my radar, nor did I know about it! 

It was on a regular Saturday AM weekend, that a dear friend dragged me along to a pickleball court. The introduction? “It’s like tennis, but at a much slower pace.” I wondered what my friend meant by that? Perhaps implementing that I couldn’t move as fast anymore? Hm...I joined.

When I stepped on the court, it hard to dismiss the energy and excitement of the players, which were nothing like the introduction I got from my buddy. I was intrigued and eager to get to know more about the game.

Soon after, my first serve: The famous 002 shot “DOUBLE O TWO" little I  knew an apparel line was coming next!

I found myself hitting the courts regularly, getting to know the sport, but with the  countless hours under the hot bright sun I was getting concerned about my skin.

This was a big shift for my not so outdoorsy lifestyle.

The intense sun exposure made me realize maybe, not for me: There was a serious lack of clothing available that has the fabric but yet is stylish.

Sun rays are one thing, but the (UV) ultraviolet radiation on earth’s surface is no joke. Some days, I didn’t just feel bright and sunny, but being baked. As one says it is 87 degrees +/- but feels more like 110 +/-.
 
Not before long, I went searching for clothing that could keep up with my new outdoor sun-soaking activity. A fabric that protects my skin from a no mercy, brutal sun yet keep a personal style.? At nearly impossible or a very limited selection I than decided to design my own, based on what I feel works best under the sun.

Coming from a fashion background, I knew immediately that creating a clothing line with a focus on sun-protective fabrics, yet allowing individual style would be A perfect 10! Custom designs with and handpicked fabrics that works is our mission now, and sharing such with others that enjoy the outdoors. Whether it be on the courts or simply by being outdoors.
